Pathway to
GraduationTM
It's a long road and a big commitment from the
initial thought process about going to school to
becoming an alumni. Whether a prospective
student is seeking a traditional college or
university, a career program, or a for-profit
degree program, school representatives in all
departments need to be experts. Expertise means
program knowledge and process knowledge.
Expertise also means having the skillset to understand
and work effectively with people.
Our training program, Pathway to
GraduationTM, does not focus on
selling. Our program focuses on people.
Students in our program learn skills that
are equally applicable to student enrollment and
to life. Students who complete our
programs learn how to "stop selling and start
living". Our graduates are able to be
successful in any school environment.
It's no longer acceptable to provide
training without measurable results. Our
training follows the model defined by Donald
Kirkpatrick, originally in 1979 and later updated
in 1998 in his book, 'Evaluating Training Programs: The
Four Levels'.
The first level measures the participant's immediate
reaction to the training session. These
measures are typically taken through an end of course
survey form. The second level is usually done
through an assessment or test that evaluates a
participant's learning that has occurred as a result of
the training. While these
measures have value, they don't
entirely validate the value of the training as it
relates to a company's bottom line.
The third level tracks and measures a participant's
behavioral changes on the job that are a result
of the training. This is more difficult
to measure because it requires observation of the
participant, usually by a supervisor. To increase
the likelihood of the effectiveness of this level, we
provide detailed instructions to each participant's
manager, along with a checklist to use for follow up
observations that are specific to each
training.
The fourth level is key in confirming the value of
training. It measures the results that occur
after training that impact the school's enrollment and
retention.
According to the Learning Resources
Network, 77% of organizations use level one
measures, 36% use testing, 15% monitor post
training behavior, and only 8% measure
outcomes. We help your school measure all
four levels.
